On Saturday, October 17, 2026 approximately a dozen new CVRS members attended an Introductory Propagating Workshop
What a wonderful morning spent at the Rhododendron Propagation Workshop hosted at Carrie and Richard Nelson’s beautiful property!
A tour through the garden before gathering rhododendron cuttings
Carrie generously shared her knowledge and expertise, guiding us step-by-step through the propagation process and offering invaluable tips to give our cuttings the best chance of success. We then enjoyed a wonderful stroll through her spectacular gardens, learning about the many wonderful plant varieties along the way. The real treat came when Carrie turned us loose to collect our very own cuttings from her impressive collection!
With our treasures in hand, it was back to her “Taj Mahal of Greenhouses” to put our newfound knowledge into practice and complete the process.

A heartfelt thank you to Carrie and Richard for their incredible generosity, warm hospitality, and for sharing such a special place with us. A morning filled with learning, laughter, inspiration, and hopefully, lots of future rhododendrons!
Don’t miss the next CVRS Workshop!
