Rooted in love for rhododendrons, gardens and friendships flourish.
The Cowichan Valley Rhododendron Society story.
The Cowichan Valley Rhododendron Society was founded in 1988 when a collection of enthusiasts decided to bud-off from the Victoria Rhododendron Society and establish a new branch of ARS in the Valley.
Anyone who has driven the fifty kilometres over the Malahat from Duncan to Victoria, especially on a dark, rainy night in winter, will understand the reasoning behind such a step.
On the 25th anniversary of the CRV (2013), CVR member Ian Efford, published “The Cowichan Valley Rhododendron Society – Celebrating The First 25 Years” (December 2013). This book contains a 25-year history of the Cowichan Valley Rhododendron Society.
The CVRS is a chapter of the American Rhododendron Society.
