PRUNING RHODODENDRONS
When, Why, and How
Saturday, May 9, 2026
11 - 1:30pm
The regular Wednesday monthly meeting for May 2026, has been changed to Saturday, May 9, 2026. This meeting will be a workshop on pruning rhododendrons — when, why, and how. The Pruning Workshop will include both theory and hands-on instruction.
The workshop will be held at a member’s garden:
2592 Mill Bay Road
11:00am to approximately 1:30pm
Not a member, but want to attend?
Becoming a member today costs only $40/year. We would love to see you at the Workshop!
Bring a sandwich. Drinks and goodies will be provided.
If you wish to participate, bring a clean, sharp pair of secateurs/pruning tool.
Does your rhododendron look like this? You can make it happier and healthier by selective pruning. Too much energy is being expended by many scrawny branches.
In the following spring, the same rhododendron shows new growth from its base and is about to flower.
